Interesting private label Waltham and some questions "Click" to Login or Register
posted
Sometimes I take a leap of faith and buy something I'm not sure about. In this case is was a Wind Indicator 23j Waltham shown in some very blurry picures for sale. I just got it and it's quite interesting. It is private label with the dial marked Hardy & Co. and the movement marked "Made by Waltham Watch Co. for Hardy & Co. SEATTLE. I think that is quite a cool way to mark up a private label movement. Anyway, I don't think the case is original to it but I can't get a manuf. date from the serial number database. Can anyone give me a clue? Not sure if I'm going to keep this one since I'm usually buying Elgins, but it's pretty nifty.

The simplicity of this dial and watch style is breathtaking. If you don't plan to keep it please put it up for auction here.
