Hamilton Case Question

I have a case marked Hamilton Railroad Model. It is 14k WGF. Who made this case, and when was it used?

Hi Jerry,

I believe the models 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 all carried those markings.

Each of those very distinctive models are shown in Weldon Hopkins' Hamilton Factory Cases, My Collection and I'll bet looking at those should help to narrow it down.

Let us know which you are referring to which will make it easier.

Lindell: I did not see this case. All the numbers match, so I know it is all one case. here is a picture of the watch, and the inside of the case back.

What you have there Jerry looks like a model #3 case. It has the incorrect bow and according to the book it says it was introduced in May 1926. (check out page 234 of the watch guide) I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong.

You are correct. The bow is what led me astray. Thanks.

I agree, the checkerboard design around the back and bezel is the giveaway for the Hamilton Case Model #3.

Someone has shoe-horned a bow from a Keystone J. Boss Railroader case onto it, which confuses the issue to say the least.
