Paul D. TrombleyAs received: 1921 12s Illinois 1XT G438 Solid 18K Knapp OF case
I spent a week negotiating a deal on this watch and was able to bring her home for $150.00 over spot. Runs great, but should be serviced before she gets put away. For anyone shopping these, the case is 30g.
Floating around in the old posts last week, I found some great data on these. There don't seem to be that many surviving examples.

David AbbeThis is from the last run of this grade 438 in 1921. Incredible that Illinois made a 21 Jewel movement with Jeweled Motor and only adjusted it for temperature! Very Rare and
ODD into the bargain! From Jerry Treiman's post you refer to it looks like there are less than 25 of your grade 438 known.

Jim BielefeldtVery nice, looks like a nice watch. One thing I could never understand is why the Illinois 12s watches mostly came with painted dials when the movements were IMHO ahead of the other major manufacturers 12s watches.
