I have another Hampden question: Has anyone here seen a Hampden RR grade with a 24Hr. Canadian-style dial?I imagine they must have made them, but have never seen any.I wonder if Hampden had any share of the Canadian market. The Arnold/Hernick book has a material list in the back, only lists 18S 24 Hr. dials. Thanks again, Ted Brown.

There is an 18 size Canadian Pacific 24-hour dial posted on page 13 of my Canadian Private Label thread, I have another 23 jewel openface with a 24-hour dial, I don't know if the Canadian railways approved any 16 size Hampdens.

Rather than start another thread, I'll ask this question here:
Does anyone know if Hampden ever put single sunk dials on rail grade watches? My 105 from 1920 has a single sunk dial and I think it may be a replacement from a lower grade watch, but I'm not familiar enough with their dial lineup in the '20s to know for sure.

Chris, I know some of the later 16S 5th model RR grades could be ordered with an extra bold single sunk dial with a large diameter seconds bit. They also made single-sunk mock DS dials with a black circle line around the center, which were used on railroad watches.A lot of them are shown in the Hampden book. There was also one that looked for all the world like a std. Bunn Special dial, which I think was SS....Ted.

Hmmm. I'll get some photos up next week so you can see what I'm talking about. It still doesn't look right to me, but I'm a novice with Hampden, so it's possible the dial is correct.
