Hello Group,
I posted on 11/27 some questions about a 18k Tiffany Repeater. We are still in negotiations on price, but I was able to take some quick photos of it. Would love to hear your thoughts. Please read my previous post (11/27) to refresh your memory of this fine watch. Does the movement look familiar to anyone? I would love to identify it. Can anyone tell me how many jewels it might have? Looking forward to your comments. Best, Jim

I'd say it was made by the Meylan Watch company. Sorry, that's all I know right now. Maybe someone else can fill in the rest for you.

Hi James

A beautiful watch !

I am absolute sure that the watch was made by Louis Audemars (Geneve)! (photo id. of the movement with a 'twin' only 200 numbers apart; same signature on movement and dial). The jewel count should be 31. The description of the watch I have pictures says it is a five minutes repeater but I think the difference to a minute repeater would be compensated by the unusual demi-hunter case.
Very high finish.

Regards,
Gerald

I collect C.H. Meylans. No two seem to be quite alike. That said, the Tiffany repeater in no way resembles my "superior" grade signed Meylan minute repeater.

Thanks Gerald. Is it possible for you to post or email a photo of the watch, which you speak of? Is the regulator the same. I haven't seen one like this before. When seen in person, this movement certainly has the WOW factor. It is even completely decorated on the bottom plate. I can't wait to photograph at home. Thanks, Jim

James

I will post a picture when I have my scanner and photo software reinstalled. I am on a new computer and it may take a few days. Both movements are absolut identical. The regulator and the balance bridge with the pat. writing are the same. Those watches sure have this WOW factor. Even a small part like the lever is a piece of art and the parts under the dial are finished with the same accurateness !

Regards,
Gerald

Look at page 527 in the watch price guide. You'll see an exact match to the watch movement posted.

Hello Lawrence,
None of them are like my Tiffany. It is though, the same movement as Ethan's repeater. I did buy the watch today & took new photos. I'll post some later tonight.

I just came across this thread again for the first time since 2008. As with many Swiss watches, one can't be sure about who "really" made it. That said, the dial signature was one that Ed. Koehn used on watches it furnished to Tiffany, and I have an Ed. Koehn minute repeater that is essentially identical to this Tiffany PL minute repeater except for being a gilt, open-face movement. The serial number of the two watches further suggests a common patrimony, 78,570 for my Ed. Koehn, and 77,681 for the Tiffany PL.

I think this is also missing the crystal and bezel on it.i think the demi hunter cases had the small crystal in the front lid and also the full crystal on the inside.very nice watch..Vic
