Francis - this is a Swiss "fake" railroad watch made to fool the person who was looking for a deal on a railroad watch. When you see the words "highly jeweled" or "special adjustments" you can bet your money it is a Swiss fake. Most also have uncut balances with evenly spaced timing screws and red glass or wax for the "jewels". Another amusing thing is many have the same serial number - 172654! Check out this previous post about the issue....

Most of the ones I've seen have the same odd looking regulator too. That's one give away for me.

The last one i bought the photos were not clear for the back of the movement and I should of been weary as he has two id's in ebay selling PW and cases plus the molly stark i bought was not the size he listed it as . May be that that could be a new Heading for DISCUSSION list the names of all fake sellers in EBAY for all members to see.May be too many to list. what does every one say????

Francis,

Welcome to IHC185. When you get your Shugart Watch Guide, there's a good article on Swiss fakes starting on page 97.

Best Regards,

Ed
