I have a 16s Illinois Sterling 17Jewel s/n 4836571 Monty dial(Sterling on it) after COA I noticed the pallet fork and escape were not messing decovered that the pivot jewel (dial side) was broke being new to watch repair this fix is beyond my capabilities and I don't have the tools to do the job would any of the members out there be willing to take on this job for a reasonable fee. The watch is in remarkable shape and the dial is near mint. Thanks for any assistance you may give.

Hi Dwayne
The problem isnt replacing the jewel. The problem is a replacement for the jewel. Anyone with a staking set could probably pop out the jewel in its setting and replace it from a doner parts movement. But it may be a case that not many people have a illinois 16s parts movement. I know I don't.

I did find my parts movement, and Ipop out the old jewel andreplaced it I also replaced the pallet forkand the escape wheel because the pivot on the pallet fork was damaged. But the problem I have now is, the escape wheel has a hick up, itgets to a certain place in its rotatation and stalls for a second then moves on, I've had the escape wheel out three times looking at it can not see any thing but I'm sure there's something wrong with it. What do you think? I'am I missing anything. Thanks again. Dwayne

Replacing the escape components means the watch has to be re-adjusted to run right. Again, I suggest Chris may be of help.

One other thought, use the "old" Escape/Pallet parts, and just re-staff the original Pallet Fork with the "new" parts watch staff. Of course the Jewel fitment has to be close as well.
