ELGIN 18's 13261147 As a newbie i keep a log of all the PW and WW that I buy and enter all the details of wat it is and the parts that I would need to fix the suckers. This one doesnt make sense as the Elgin data base says it is a 7j the plate says it is 15J..... plus there are more jewels than the standard 7, all the serials are the same all over. I just like to know so that i have the correct information and Grade it accordingly. I am trying to work out how to get the pixel size down on my camera so i can upload photos... | |||

Francis, The Ehrhardt Elgin book also shows s/n 13261147 as a 7 Jewel Grade 294. That said, some of these were "up-jeweled" by students at the Elgin Watch Makers School and also by other independent watchmakers. A picture would help a lot. | |||
