Unusual Dial...any help? "Click" to Login or Register

I recently acquired this dial on a popular auction site. It had a starting bid of $4.95 and I bid $5.00. I do this a lot sometimes as means to track it and who knows what might happen. Anyway, I was the only bidder and what the hay, it would make a nice item to put on the collectable shelf. To my surprise, it really was a porcelain dial and a very nice one at that. I have two questions. First, with feet positioned at 24, 36, and 55, what would this 16 size dial fit. I have looked through my Illinois watch books and have not found a match to that pattern. I am beginning to think that it does not fit an Illinois watch. Also it has a seconds sink on the front but not one soldered in on the back like Illinois dials have. Second question is, has anyone ever heard of the Illinois Jewelry Co.? Maybe TB or Sheila can dig something up. Any help on these questions will be greatly appreciated.

I will look around & see if I can find anything on Illinois Jewelry Co.

Looking in gold PW ID & Price Guide it shows that dials with posts at 24.5,36.5, 55.5 fit Illinois 16s Model 4 & 5

Tom,

You are right on with that one....I guess I will have to look for a three finger Getty movement for that dial. It is pretty cool looking.

Thanks,

Steve
