I just bought an unmarked Hamilton 992. The dm is different than the marked 992. Is this watch more valuable or less than the marked movement. I believe it is fron 1906-1907. SN # 703294 21 j. Thanks in advance. Keven

None of the "early" 992s were marked They all have the same pattern of damaskeening and the double screws on the winding wheel (like yours). There have been other posts and pictures of similar early 992s where a jewler has marked them at a later date. Usually, the "992" is in a different area and the lettering looks kind of funny and out of place. As a collector with about 20 992s (e's and b's included) I personally place a higher value on the older movements. I think they look ALOT nicer- however becuase they are unmarked- I can usually find them at a cheaper price. Please actually have to do about 5 minutes of research to determine the grade of the movement. Your watch will also have a 4 foot dial- unlike the 3 foot dials that all of the marked 992s use. The dial should be double sunk and have "script" lettering.
