Also got this today. It's a gold toned 21J, BWR in a reasonable, correct case. Are these worth more than a regular BWR? I did pay a bit more!

Another shot. These seem hard to photograph with the gold color.

Most people will pay extra for the Elgin BWR gold flash movements, there are not that many so that adds to the collector value.

I agree with Claude, in that the gold flashed 478's will bring more in dollars to the owner....

Yours was made in 1943 about the middle of the gold flashed movements, since they were gold flashed for the government requirements or world war II....

Good find Mike, they aren't that easy to locate....

Regards,

Jerry

Thanks Jerry and Claude. I bought this in a group of watches today, the 992E, a Hamilton 931, and a Hampden 23J Special Railway 18s. This one I wasn't too sure about other than I liked it and it seems to me they go for more than a regular BWR. I snapped these photos minutes after buying and found the gold flash is harder to photograph. Maybe tomorrow I'll work harder at it. They are pretty movements and you don't see them every day.

Full movement photo. I find these hard to capture good contrast.

These are beauties and actually one of these is the reason I joined this site. Lindell contacted me about one I had up for sale on Ebay when I sold under Gawatch and he got me to come in and post pictures. Wink
