A new local aquaintance and fellow watch person brought over some of his watches to discuss and one of them (which is at the shop for cleaning) is an 18s, 7 Jewel Rockford Model 2 Stem/Lever Hunter IN A 3 OUNCE COIN SILVER ROCKFORD SIGNED CASE!. I have never seen a Rockford 18s 3 ounce Coin Silver Hunter Case before, ANYWHERE! Anybody else?

An interesting additional note; Page 68 of Roy Ehrhardt's "Trademarks, Watch cases . . . " mentions: "Rockford Watch Case Co., Rockford, Illinois 1883-1915 After Northwestern". Then on Page 66 of the Same book, it mentions: "Northwestern Watch Case Co., Rockford, ILL. 1878-1883 . . Became Rockford Watch Case Co." Now here is the "wrinkle", the model 2 18s Rockford cased this way is an 1878-79 production watch. The movmen shows it's age in this case, a past Jeweller used "Jump Rings" to compensate for case wear from the movement screws

Topping it off is the unblemished Hand-Signed and scaled P.L Dial! Note that the Key Wind AND set fitments are still on this Stem Wind Lever set movment!A great restoral project! More later as I work on this beauty! BY the way I believe a good "Estimated COLLETOR'S "Insurance" value for this very very rare combination is in excess of $1000.00.
