I got this Hamilton Ball several weeks ago and finally restaffed it and cleaned it up. Not being familiar with these, can the group tell me what is right and wrong with it? I was a bit disappointed to see the screwdriver marks and some other small things that looked a bit careless to me. Then I figured that these were really workhorse watches and really tools and not jewelry, so I guess it is not uncommon to find them a bit mistreated.

Thanks,
Roger

Nice find Roger. I believe the hour hand has been replaced at some time, but I will let the experts pipe in here.

Love the 18sz 999 Ball's and yours is a nice one Smile
If I had some "whole" case screws I would replace those 1/2 case screws and a dial cleanup looks like a big help in marketing or displaying the watch and there are some great tips right here on 185 for cleaning those hairlines that I believe will do wonders for your watch. Its a keeper Big Grin
regards,
bb
