Does anyone have any idea why this case has been ground away at these four spots?. The two near the barrell bridge looks like it may have been a lazy mans way of removing the plate while still cased ?. Looks tacky whatever the reason.

Don't have an answer Ray, but you have yourself a railroad inspector there, Mr. Birkenbusch. I have a loaner watch of his.

Thanks for the info Tom, I did see his name on your list of inspectors. Seems as though I remember reading that he may have been a politician of some sort as well if I remember right, I have it here somewhere (I think)..
