Hunting movement case question "Click" to Login or Register
posted
Sorry to ask what may be a stupid question.
If a movement is described as a hunting movement does this just mean that it is for a Hunter and Half hunter case or does it refer to something else.
If it is for a hunter case what makes it different to an open face movement. Many thanks, Mike

Mike

There is no such thing as a 'stupid question'

Hunter and open face configurations are different in the orientation of stem and sub-second.

An OF movement has stem, center and sub second in a straight line (stem at 12 o'clock and second at 6 o'clock).

A hunter movement has stem, center and sub second orientated in a right angle (stem at 3 o'clock and seconds at 6 o'clock).

You are right: hunter movements are designed for hunter or half hunter cases.

Gerald
