I'm trying to do a little research on the watchmaker who used to own the bench and tools I now have. His name was Charles Wilkins and was from Freeport,Ill. From looking through some of the boxes of odds and ends I found out that he went to the Bradley Horology Institute, maybe around the year 1929.(http://www.bradley.edu/about/founding.shtml)I also found advertisments for a Clinton Wilkins who had a watch shop in Galena,Ill.Maybe his son?
I'm thinking now that he might of had a jewelery store in Freeport, and if he did the chances are pretty good that he might have sold watches with his name on the dials. Has anyone ever seen one with this name on it.
