Blue or purple hands? For Illinois Grade 706 "Click" to Login or Register
posted
Sorry I have no picture, yet, its still in pieces.

I have a 19j 16s lever set grade 706 Illinois that I am working on for myself. But it has a set of mismatched hands. I am going to have to get a set. Should this watch have purple hands? I think it should, they would look nice with the gothic numbered but light block name ds dial.

Although the 1923 Illinois factory material catalog shows the same spade/whip hands as available in both blue and wine(purple) I see the purple hands 99% of the time so I would go with those.

Hi Jim, I just checked my 706, and it has the purple hands. This one is 17 jewel, s/n 5130282, with a white double sunk enamel dial with the half moon minute markers. I think the dial number is 111.
