While I continue in my search for a Hamilton, Model "8" YGF bow, I decided to put the 992E movement into a minty Hamilton green gold Model "2" case thast I just bought. It has a US Military inscription that I thought I'd share with the Club.

It makes me wonder where the 24th Inf. Div. was stationed in June of 1933?

There was no 24th Infantry Division in 1933 - it was not created until in 1941. The '24th Inf.' could refer to the 24th Infantry Regiment that was part of the 3rd Infantry Division. At that time they were stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia and assigned to training people. If this is the same unit, this engraved case might have been for a drill instructor who was retiring?

Jim, my research, so far, agrees with you. I'm sure that it relates to the 24th Infantry Regiment which were the Buffalo Soldiers. The Regiment was formed after the Civil War and went on to protect the Railroads, fight in the Indian Wars, the Spanish-American War, were stationed at Camp Furlong, New Mexico chasing Villa in to Mexico with Pershing from 1916 to 1922 and then to Fort Benning as school troops until being sent overseas in WW 2. Quite a history. I'm also agreeing with you that the watch was likely a retirement gift. I'm still working on tracking down M/Sgt. Miller with perhaps the VFW.
