My cousin sent photos of a Waltham pocket watch, which has been passed down in his wife's family. I looked through what little Waltham info I have. I think it was made in 1895 - a 12 size, 17 jewel. The closest picture I could find was a model 240. Can someone give me the real info on this watch? Thanks for your help

Looks like a 12 sz 17J Model 1894 Grade 250 H/C from the early 1900's in a solid 14K gold case !! A very nice family heirloom regards, bb

Douglas, I agree with everything Buster has said and it is a really nice heirloom to have in your family, just keep it together, it looks like an original configuration....that case is as clean as a whistle.... I will add a little more to what Buster has said regarding the timepiece.... Your watch was made in the first of 3 runs that started on 11/1/1897 and ended on 8/31/1902 and a total of 2500 units were made....The first serial number made was 7159001 and the last one was 7644000....From these numbers your watch was the 584th watch made during these three runs.... You have a very collectable time piece and a very valuable one at that.... Congratulations.... Regards, Jerry
