Which before 1910 had reached incredible perfection in the "art" of watch detailing . . .

and then by 1910 or so with the passing of the great benefactor Royal Robbins, the "beancounters" came in and spoiled all the fun! Bringing the art of the 1883 full circle!

EEEXXXXCCUUUUUSSSEEE MMMEEEE? Did you say "Run of the Mill" There is a thing called a "Run of the Mill Watch"? I don't think so. Just LOOK at what you posted!!!! Look at those gorgeous watches! I don't think there is even ONE AMERICAN made watch that is not, hands down, PERFECT!!!! Ok, so maybe some are not so collectable, but look at my seriously "Pretty" and "Gorgeous" little 7J Elgin. Are they not the neatest little machines you have ever seen? BUT................ You are correct, the beancounters, did do a number on the beauties huh? Sad, but true! I just love the ones you posted here, they sure are works of art. The second photo with the "programmable" damaskeening is UNBELIEVEABLE! So, Run of the Mill? nnnaaaahhhh! Not even one, fancy or not! Great Pictures! Sheila
