Help - Elgin escapement "Click" to Login or Register
posted
Hi,

The bellow photo is from a Elgin 18S grade 123, the serial number of the movement is 4684430.
This is the first Elgin movement that I saw with this escapement.
Could some one tell me anything about it?

Regards,

Paulo

Actually that type of "anchor" type Pallet fork driven escapement is normal for these 18s Elgin Full plate movements. Your particular grade was fairly rare being number 2430 of 6000 made from 1891-1893.

There were very robust, and popular as Railroad Time pieces.
