I would like to know what the purpose of this aduster screw is for and how to adjust it? I think it might have to do with the setting mechanism. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...Paul

Paul. When out of the case the setting mech defaults to set, and the train tries to drive the setting parts also, turning this screw can lock in the wind position, give it a ¼ turn and see what happens dial side.
Hi Paul, that screw is used to "lock out" the hand setting, since when it's out of the case, the movement automatically goes in the set position and can't be wound, without holding inward pressure on the winding arbor. With that screw turned the right way, it will wind only and not set. Some South Bends have the same screw, but they marked an arrow around theirs to identify it.Nice looking Hamilton!Take care, Ted.

Theodore, great we are all falling all over each other to help people out I normally leave the cannon pinon off while adjsuting so dont need to toggle it, also can do the final oiling once I know the timings going to come in.
