WOW vs MWA - brethren. Burlington Gr185 with killer case "Click" to Login or Register

I landed this watch last week and was rewarded with a really cool case. I thought this was going to be a WOW case... but it is engraved with MWA in the woodsman emblem.

It turns out MWA is Modern Woodsmen of America and even though founded by the same man, is not affiliated with WOW Woodsman of the World.

The real bonus is this true Burlington Hunter Display case with a rear bezel and crystal rather than a covet. I'm certain, this is quite original and not an aftermarket modification.

This movement was quite gummed up, but cleaned up great with no technical issues of any kind.

It was a bear to photo through the glass.

Paul, a Getty 3-finger factory engraved Hunter cased grade 185 19J in that condition is a rare find! Look for a flat hunter crystal for that back cover.

Thank you Richard, I really enjoy these old catalogs.

Dave, The new crystal is in place. 17-14/16 profile 7... It's crystal clear! But made taking the movement photo a real chore. It is a really nice look.

Peter,

Dave has a thing for the Getty's... and was just being nice...

IMHO, the case with the rear glass is far more rare than the movement.

This one will stay in my personal collection for a long time. I don't have that many "sacred cows".. but this one will join that herd.

Greetings to all who have followed this post.
I was going to list a very similar watch for sale on eBay last week when I came across this posting. Seems like others here might be interested. So I will post a listing in our auction section here. Hope maybe there might be better interest. I need to take the required photos.

Look for the listing later this evening.
