Hello Group! The week is off to a good start. I got a phone call to look at an old "Railroad" pocket watch. Made the 40 minute drive & was very pleased to have bought this Columbus King 17J Hunter with a Choo Choo dial. Farm house fresh & just the way you like to find them. A very Nice watch but what a dial! I have never seen this version. Is this what they call the "angled" version? Look at the close up, the front of the locomotive is a clock face that reads "New Columbus King". I love this dial! It takes up half the dial with detail of hills, river, tracks, telegraph pole & lines. Some hairlines as shown, but a wonderful dial no less. Any idea how scarce this dial is. The 18s 17j nickle movement is not running & is off to my watch maker were it will get a complete overall & a new crystal, which is missing. The Phila. 14k 25yr hunter case is excellent condition. I don't know why, but this watch excites me. What do you think? Best, Jim

Wow Jim, that's the kind of watch I like too! I also have only seen maybe 2 of those previously, unfortunately I wasn't able to get one of them yet. Let me know if you ever get tired of it and want to trade! Mike
Most of us shlubs go through a lifetime without ever getting a phone call to come and look at a watch like that, let alone being able to purchase it. Beautiful watch James! Mike

This is funny for me. I sell watches for $10,000 or more, yet this watch with that dial is just as exciting. I have owned & sold many marked 23 jewel dials & to me it is just a dial, really nothing exciting to look at. But, this one brings a smile to my face.
