Beautiful restoration. I have a question; When you had this watch in pieces for the repairs, did the Dial plate have the 4 extra Jewels to make it a true 15 Jewel watch as marked on the back plate? The Elgin database lists this as an 11 Jewel early model, if there were more Jewels added as the 15 Jewel marked on the movment plate claims this would be a very interesting collector watch indeed!

Hi David, you are correct, but this is the p.watch i recived. I think the bridge of barrel is of another elgin p.watch with 15 j. I check in my broken p.watch maybe i have correct bridge. Thank you!

Fabrizio, The 15 Jewel mark oin the bridge looks like it was stamped in later. Sometimes these watches were "up-Jeweled" at the factory. From 1895 - 1905, Waltham "upjeweled" about 100,000.
