This watch is a marriage of spare and NOS parts I picked up along the way. I had to wait until my experience level, tools and parts bins caught up to the project.

The movement is pretty much as received. Dave taught me how to shrink the minute hand circle and sold me a staking set to accomplish that task so the minute hand would stay put...

The case on the other hand, was a total basket case... the bezel would not screw on correctly, so the posts here came in handy for how to salvage-restore bezel/case threads.

I bought another tool from Dave who also taught me how to tighten the bow.

I was able to fit a NOS crystal with just a teency bit of wet sanding.

The stem and sleeve were a whole different story. Dave cautioned me against buying cases without stems... I never dreamed that a case would come in with a cut down 16s stem and sleeve. What a basket case that was... It took hours to sort through my cache of stems and sleeves to find a matched set that fit and perform like new.

All in all, great fun. Or obsession, however you want to look at it.

1922 Illinois 12s M3 G406 17J Adj4p rgjs gold polished and beveled center wheel DR

We were interested to find that this watch is clearly a 4 position watch... the 406 is listed as a 3 position watch.

I wanted to restore this swing case because it looks so much like the 16s and 18s RR's that I have...

The case is an Illinois Case Co #0870056. Is there any way to date the case to see if it is anywhere near 1922, the period for the movement?

Thanks a mil for bringing me along for this journey.
