Newportwatch case "Click" to Login or Register

I have just bought a watch (not yet received it) with a Newport Watch Case.
It is a 4oz Coin case, is there any information on the case maker, as I can find no info on Newport.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill, I think Newport was a John Dueber company and is Newport Kentucky. Mr. Dueber owned or had a controlling interest in Newport before setting up in Canton Ohio. I have seen a number of Dueber cases over the years and they may wear out or be damaged but they were quite well made and the Newport cases are in my opinion of good quality.

I think Deacon will be pretty close to the mark Bill, John Dueber changed the company name to the "Dueber Watch Case Manufacturing Co." in 1873, in 1876 the business was moved to Newport Kentucky, this all occurred before he purchased his interest in the Hampden Watch Company and moved to Canton Ohio. This information is from W. Nieblings book on the "History of the American Watch Case". So I would say that this is how the name "Newport" originated for the case you have.

Regards to All,
Bila
