Info wanted on a Seth Thomas "Click" to Login or Register
posted
I am trying to find information on a Seth Thomas watch with a Swiss movement. My neighbor said he bought it new approximately 25 to 30 years ago. I think it's a 6 or 10 size ??.
The movement measures about 32 MM and the dial measures about 36 MM. The back cover snaps off/on. It says Seth Thomas, swiss made on the dial. I see no serial number.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Don

Don, It is a Swiss "trade" Movement, possibly China made them timed and packed in Switzerland. The plastic spacer fills in to make it look like a smallish pocket watch (this time), although with the sweep second hand, it would serve well for anything from a ladies medium size wrist watch to whatever larger size suited the market.

These movements sold (alone) for only a dollar or two, but in the retail market could go from $20.00 to $300.00 depending on where and what they looked like. A "Vegas" price was probably fifty dollars, Wal-Mart, mebbe $19.95
