I have this swing out case all correct but there is a gap .015 of an inch all around once is close I do not want to over tight the case. how can I fix this?

Peter if the gap is between the watch movement and the swing ring then it has been modified to take a 17s movement. If the gap is between the swing ring and the case body, it is a replacement ring, if the gap is between the crystal bezel and the case body, the movement in the case is too thick for the case. If the gap is somewhere else, please explain in detail.

ok here is the picture we looking at bezel and gap between main body

Is it a reproduction dial on the watch movement? I've seen bezels not closing like that due to the thicker LaRose replacement Swiss dials. Regards! Mark

I will agree with david on this one. The move/dial conbination is too thick or not seated into the swing ring fully. be careful when unscrewing the lid as it can scratch the dial since it is probably touching the dial. Jared

all looks original but Im suspecting that the movement is not for that case.

Peter- another thing I just thought of. If your crystal is too flat, it may be hitting the cannon pinion. if the crystall will pop out somewhat easily, you may try it without it and see. Jared

. . . if the crystal top surface is domed, there should be good clearance for the cannon pinion/hands and I would see if the cover screws down all the way with the movement removed.

I did remove the movement to see and the case will not screw down all the way now what? all # on case are correct?

Peter, With the movement removed and the swing out not hitting, check the threads for damage or obstruction. I've had clean looking threads that were bent just a bit, enough to stop them from tightening all the way down. Steve

Check as Steve suggested and also make sure the swing ring beds completely flat in the case body.
