Buffalo Bill Cody Watches "Click" to Login or Register

I just returned from a trip to Cody, Wyoming. I visited the Buffalo Bill Historical Center and saw some interesting watches in their collection. Here are some pictures I took of their collection. I am sorry for the quality of the photos but all of the watches were behind glass. I was not influential enough to get them to remove them for me so at this point we have to live with what I have. I thought others might be interested in seeing them. Some if not all, needed repair. But they were displayed for everyone to see.

Here is an Early Elgin Natiional Watch.

The next watch is a Gold Repeater. They identified the maker as Leopold Haguenin.

The final display of watches were rather vague. It included three cases with diamonds embedded in them. The discription only included information about two of the watches and I was not sure which discription fit which watch:

Here is the description for the watches, Sorry, but I accidentally cut the right edge of the above note off and didn't notice it until I got home:

Isn't it amazing, we have to look at watches and clocks every where we travel.
Ernie, at least you don't have to go look at every quilt and basket shop along the way. Or do you? Big Grin

When it came to American made watches, it looks like Mr. Cody was an Elgin man! Smile

I was there in '06 when I first got the watch bug. I was very impressed with the whole museum but especially the gun collection. I believe that has to be the finest private gun collection anywhere. I would/will go back and spend even more time at the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum. (I missed the quilt shops!) Roll Eyes
