Hello everyone; A short time ago I bought a Civil War era Waltham, serial # 107837 made in Waltham, Mass. This morning I was making my usual assault on eBay when I found this Waltham made between May 1, 1864 and July 31, 1864 but manufacured in Boston, Mass. I tried looking in the 2010 guide and the web but couldn't find any information saying there was a Waltham factory in both places. Does anyone have any information about this? I just found it rather odd, but then again, a lot of things are odd to me these days. Thanks for any help you might be able to offer. Bud

Bud, the first Offices of Waltham was in Boston, Massachusetts in 1853 called Boston Watch Co. and a year later the factory was built in Waltham.... I guess there were parts stamped Boston and then later Waltham, Mass., but they did not have two factories.... Waltham went through tough times during the war but survived through it all...a good history of the company is on pages 108 & 109 in the price guide.... Regards, Jerry
