Since the Elgin site is still down, could someone identify this 6s Elgin movement for me. Serial #6178549.

Serial #6178549 is a Grade 168, Second Model 6 Size, 16 Jewel Hunter Cased movement. 6,000 total production serial numbers asssigned through 6178001-6887000 ion the 1895-1896 time frame.

1895 was about the height of the competition between American watch manufacturers to see who could offer the fanciest plate decoration, with elaborate damaskeening and tutone designs.
