Seth Thomas and Montgomery Wards and Co. joined business hands to celebrate the spirit many Americans had for the coming "Twentieth Century" with this beautiful all original tooled and designed 18s Two tone watch.
The promise of great technical progress, peace and prosperity were expected when we turned over the clock to 1900. The "Holy Wars" were thought to ba a thing EIGHT HUNDRED years past, and suffrage was actually beginning to show some results. A somewhat different picture than our "popular press" painted for "Y2K".
I found this Model 6, 1893 Vintage s/n589784 "20Th Century" as a "parts wreck" about three years ago. After slowly and methodically rebuilding it with perserverance and invaluable parts help from Brian Cavanaugh (as usual) it has FINALLY come to life again!
It is so very nice to belong to a group where these things can be done without conflict! Same spirit as our forebearers of a little over 100 years ago.

Really nice Seth Thomas Dave!Is there any reason why on their 3/4 plate movements, they put the center wheel down below the rest of the train, instead of above it?I've always wondered about that.Thanks, Ted.
