Another rare find. Illinois 21 Jewel grade 175 RRG

Not that collectable. But still low production. 1300. Time King Adjusted to Tempeture and position.

Rail Road Grade not Rail Road Approved.

Still a nice find for the money.

Should this have a Time King Dial. Because I have never seen a Time King Dial.

Very nice Gene. I have seen the "Time King" marked dials, and it would be really nice to have one if its double sunk. I can't find anything that says it "must" have one, all I can find is that it should be a double sunk dial.

regards,
bb

Buster I think the Time King dials I have seen where on 12 sz and might of been painted metal. But don't quote me on it.

I have 2 others in the database 2,039,302- model 4 and 2,039,570 Model 5 like yours. Looks like 100 model 4's and 200 model 5's if all in the runs were Time Kings. I have not seen any from any other runs.

No they are not marked as such- but somewhere down the way I think I have seen a 16 size dial marked time king.

Some years ago I recall having a 16s Getty movement that had a badly fractured dial that said Time King. It was double sunk and at the time I thought it was probably a private label. I believe it was on a 17j movement but am not positive.

The Getty Time King looks complete as far as I can see. This movement could probably be certified by a RR inspector if it was adjusted to pass. It is showing a "Book" in the condition of yours @$275.00. Not too shabby.
