I have a Hamilton 992. When I purchased it the seller told me that the case was not original to the watch. The case is a base metal with some type of plating on it. All is well except for the wear on the back of the case, it appears it was in and out of a watch pocket many times and the plating is worn. What are the solutions other than replacing the case? It is a silver or white metal plating on it. Thanks for the help. Stinger

(Quote)Several years ago I purchased a 992 with a silver colored case. The seller told me it was not the original case. It was unique to me so I made the purchase. The back has some wear on it and the plating is beginning to wear off. I don't have the watch handy right now. I will get the information for the case and post it. Do you have a ballpark figure on stainless steel case price? thanks very much for the information.(/quote) I believe you asked this same question on December 5, 2016. We commented then to answer your questions ? regards, bb
