This is a 17 jewel Illinois Lakeshore, marked on both the dial & movement. I was wondering if anyone knew if this is named after the Lakeshore Railroad or what else Lakeshore might stand for? Thanks for any comments. Tom ![]()

An Illinois "Lakeshore" makes me think of "Indiana Dunes" State park, which (I hope) should be a National park, as it has the last "Virgin" stand of Jackpine in North America! In 1958-59 I helped a Forestery PhD candidate study that tree for two years before going to school, he was a smart guy, and I was a Star Scout weho could camp and cook in the wildrness, the rest is a looooong Story, and one that molded the rest of my life.
