I just picked up a watch today that I can't seem to find listed in Shugarts book. I believe it's a 14s 21j Waltham Colonial Riverside. All I see listed in the book is a Riverside "A", and this just says "Colonial Riverside". It's also doesn't say that it's adjusted to 5 positions, like the one listed in the book. I tried looking up the serial number (29295676) on the Waltham serial number site and it's showing it as a 3/0 size (which it definitely is not). Any ideas?

My Waltham "Bible" declares that in January of 1937 Waltham assigned S/N's 29292001-7000 to;
"Model 1924 Colonial Size Grade# 221, 21 Jewel, Pendant Setting Open Face, "P" grade material"
So you have a very nice watch. It is most likely that your watch was delivered in 1938 or 1939 and was mixed with a lot of pre-war stuff including some nice Riversides.

The on line serial number lookup is not without flaw. You should register your watch's information so that the corrections can be made. A lot of effort went into the creation of the list but it is still pretty fresh and errors show up. The few minutes it takes to upload the info on your watch will help bring the project to the nearly perfect tool we all want it to be. Thanks

Nice watch! Jerry Treiman likes info on these Tiffany's. It'd be great if you added the number to the Waltham ser. no. list. It may be recorded somehow already but, some these private labels have slight design differences. Somewhere down the road all this info will crystalize.

I look back on my coin collecting days and have to chuckle at how easy numismatists have it. They deal with these monolithic slugs that have no interchangeable parts. They do have counterfeiting and other authenticity issues but, only ONE part!
