A case question "Click" to Login or Register

I pickup movements from time to time. Some just because they look interesting. Thats what happened about a week ago when I got a 16s 15j Elgin movement for $20. Its a Grade 138 from 1895 serial number 5891034. While looking it up I found out that there were only 4000 of these made 117 years ago, thats a real small run for Elgin's. So I put in a nice new spring and coa's it and its ticking away on my desktop.
I like nickle cases, I would probably put this one in a gold filled case if I had one or the money right now to buy one. But I do have a crescent swing out case. Would this be appropriate for the movement?
Here is a pic of the movement.

Does anyone have an idea about what kind of case this was most likely in? Even an educated guess?

Jim,

My2cents:

The fancy dial screams for a nice ornate Gold Filled case... However, I do like the contrast between gilded plates and a shiny silverode style case, too.

How do like that fence straddling answer?

I will go for silver or silveroid case on this one.

Thanks for chiming in. I went and tried to put it in 2 different silveroid/nickle cases. One a 2 cover, the other a swingout. It wouldnt fit in either. I am going to have fun finding a case it looks like.
