Hi Hi I bought a selection of balance staffs, and got a good deal. But I have a bottle of Illinois staffs that are listed as 16s, and thats all. So I took out my old micrometer and mesured it. The micrometer says its 5.60 in length and where the hairspring would be is .95 and the place the balance wheel sits is 1.26 or 1.27 the mic is kind of wore at that spot, its old. But I cant match those numbers to any Illinois staff on the Balance staff dimentions for American pocket watch list. Anyone got a more extensive list or a clue as to the part number this would be?

Sorry I forgot to add in my first post they are single roller staffs, 3 of them. I thought they were 18s also. But If it is, its not listed in the Balance staff dimentions for American pocket watch list because the 18s illinois staffs are 5.75 and 6mm long. I looked at 114/47609 but its only 5.3. But when I look at the staff's listed on dashto they list the 114/47609 as 5.60mm. Could there be an error in the list?

I got my info from Tomnsends, Balance Staff Interchangability List...He had measured the two staff I mentioned as 5.62 in length and the balance wheel seat as 1.28..I just measured a #47632 that I have and it measured 5.72 and balance wheel seat as 1.25...So I guess I have no idea what your staffs might fit...He does have a 16sz. 14 sz. (Spec) mentioned that is 5.59 in length but does not give any other measurments for it...I have no idea what models it is for..

Thanks Gary. The 335/47610 is a 16/14 staff that is 5.6, thats in the Balance staff dimentions for American pocket watch list. I guess I will label them as a question mark with the dimensions and if I get a watch with a broken staff I can check against the numbers.
