I love those model 92 Waltham's. The pocketwatch database has recently added a listing of all waltham watches thru about 20 million. Because of my interest in these I compiled a database sheet on 92 models specifically. The list (and it may be off some) shows specific runs of about 5400 19 jewel Vanguards, with several other runs showing mixed runs with 19, 21, & 23's together. When I see a 92 serial number I am tracking them by keeping a list of the watches out there. (Edit: these runs included OF watches only, there are several other hunting movement runs in addition.)

Kevin, mine is the standard Waltham railroad d/s dial. I also have s/n 12,001,313 Vanguard that was born as a 19 jewel movement and converted to a 23 jewel(plugged) unusual to see a 19 turned to 23. Wish I could find out how many were done this way.

Neat! My only plugged movement is a 16s Ball Waltham 19j upjewelled to a 21j. I was asking because I've seen a few of the 19j 18s Vanguards with 24-hr dials.
