Hello and Happy Holidays, I have just acquired a Hampden Railway model watch. It is 18 size, 15 jewel and a model 4 hunter movement. Appears to be in the original golf filled case, also all the screw heads are gilded. Any thoughts/ opinions? Thanks. Gary.

Hi Gary,

Often the Hampdens are overshadowed by other makes for which information is more readily available. Many of us at IHC 185 collect and enjoy Hampden watches. It would be helpful to have your movement number to come up with information and perhaps share similar examples.

Hi, Sorry no pictures, although I tried. The serial number, however, I can provide. It is 641175. This watch has a Roman numeral, double sunk dial and butterfly style hands. The movement is nickel, marked Railway, Adjusted, and Canton, Ohio.

Your watch is a 18 size 15j Hunter Railway grade.
It was made around 1890 and somewhere between 15,000 to 20,000 were made
