Longines Leader Express "Click" to Login or Register

Hi all,
How is the parts availability for the Longines Leader Express. I just bought one and thought I would attempt to do/have some repair done ?
You know the story spend first, cry later !!!
I try to do that as little as possible but really wanted a Leader or Monarch.
Thanks for any info on parts availability.
Bill

Hi again,
I just received this watch and it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It runs and seems to run well. The dial has a repair that looks far worse in the pictures, than in hand, so can live with that. This is a P/L 19J Longine Express Leader with the name C.J. McLeod & Coy, Amhearst N.S. It has what I think is called a snail cam reg. which is different than some, I think.
Here are some pics of it. Oh, is there any way to remove a fingerprint without disassembly ?
Thanks Bill

Nice looking watch Bill.

I think the dial has C.S. McLeod & not C.J.

Doing a little searching in the 1891 census for Amherst, Cumberland, Nova Scotia there was a C.S. McLeod listed as a watchmaker & jeweler. He was born about 1864 in New Brunswick.

He is also in the 1911 census for the same city & as a jeweler. He is now married with 5 children.

The 1901 census lists him as Charles S., same city same occupation. Born Jan 22, 1865

Not sure who Coy was yet.

Tom,
I checked with a loupe on the dial, and of course you have the right guy, that being C.S. my failing eyes. The movement looked like C.J.McLeod.
Thats interesting information on the fellow, as I had no past provenance on him, or the Co.
Great detective work as usual from you, you are a real asset to this club.
Tom I also noticed it is not C. S. McLeod & Coy, it is C.S.McLeod & Co'y.
Thanks,
Bill
