Interesting PBS Show On Clocks and Pocket Watches
It is unfortunate that they removed and replaced parts rather than restoring to the original condition.

Tom BruntonWow!!! what a historical "railroad regulator",in the very truest meaning of the phrase. Makes my Grand trunk Railroad System Seth Thomas #17 pale by comparison , envy

begrudging admiration

sheer joy in the love of great historical clocks or watches

Mark CrossFrom the program, it was my understanding it was only reconditioned and the wiring removed. Nothing else was changed. Did I miss something?

Edward L. Parsons, Jr.Interesting video and a sad commentary on the state of science education in our schools. The supposedly well-educated commentator had no clue what was inside the mercury-regulated pendulum on that regulator clock.
I guess today's science classes don't pass around a beaker with some mercury in it for the kids to roll around and play with as my 5th grade science class did. I rubbed some on a silver dime and made it look brand new.
