19j B W Raymond Hunting Case "Click" to Login or Register

I finally found a replacement for the broken case on my Elgin 19 jewel 16s B W Raymond watch. I note the data bases show a production of 4000. I don't remember seeing many of these for sale. This critter runs very well. The new case needed notches for the lever, but otherwise look very much like the broken original. Dial

Kevin they don't show up that often, the grade 371 (19j) 4000 made and the grade 373 (21j) 3000 made were the only hunters made in the 37x series.

This was Elgin's 16 size production of watches based on their popular 18s 3/4 plate models. None of this series were made in extreme numbers, but included the following grades, 370(17j)BWR, 371 19j HC, 372 19j OF BWR, 373 21J HC FT, 374 21j OF FT, 375 21j OF Veritas but a few marked FT, and the 376 23j OF Veritas.

Also forgot to mention that on this series and with the 402 grade Elgin shifted the setting lever so that it is in the typical OF location and even pulls up and out like a typical OF where most hunter lever set are in the lower position around the 5 hour area.

Very nice. It takes a lot of patience to wait out a nice hunter case.

Thanks for pointing out the lever set details. Quite interesting.
