Hello everyone, my question concerns 2 grades of hampden watches-the wm. mckinley and the 105 models. let's assume both are 21 jewel, 16 size, double roller, adjusted to 5 positions, gold jewel settings, and assume condition to be equal. What makes the 105 to be listed at a higher value in the shugart guide? Is scarcity at issue here? Your comments are awaited.

The only differences indicated by Hernick ("Hampden Watch Co", 'Heart of America Press') is the 105 was a purpose built RRG watch, while the WmMcKinley was a series done and named in honor of Mr. McKinley who had been a big help to Deuber in the early years. The many McKinleys were made with 6 different combinations of "Adjusted, 3 Adjustments, 5 Adjustments, and came in open face and Hunter-cased movements. So many of the McKinley's would not be RRG, while all of the 105's are RRG.
