Looked at the dial/case and thought 992 plain Jane, but for some reason had to go back and look, again.

I make the movement number 392151 which would be a 992 circa 1906-1907, and its marked "SPECIAL" which is similar to the "Adjusted for RR Service" 992's except it doesn't have the marked dial or the tutone movement. That's a 3-star watch and I'll venture to speculate that this is very possibly something of comparable scarcity.

Great Find Jon!

Best Regards,

Ed

Looks to be a tu-tone movement, on my screen anyway, with gold case screws. Is it, Jon?
I've seen tu-tones marked special.

Very nice watch!!

Thanks...

Hamilton Adjusted for Railroad Service 21 Jewels seems to be at the 2,300,000 range. And then there is the “992 Special 8 Adjustments”

However, this movement being a tu-tone just marked special and a serial # below 400,000 was an interesting combination. I believe the movement and dial are original to each other.

OK Steven, now I can see it.

So that would make it possibly an "Adjusted for RR Service" watch without the marked dial listed in the fat book.

There were later versions marked "Adjusted for Railroad Service, 21 Jewels, 8 Adjustments" but the movements of those were marked "992 SPECIAL."
