I collect these Bunn 19 jewel 60 HOUR watches and have about 13 of them in my collection. Awhile back (6 months ago) I decided to test the market by selling one on ebay. That is the one pictured below on the left, 4726979. This morning I came across the one pictured on the right, 4726980, on ebay. I triple checked all of mine hoping it wasn't the one I sold but alas, it was no longer mine.

I felt the least I could do was post them together in pictures anyway.

Do you intend to let it ride, Steve....or

You could buy #80 and then go back to the buyer of #79 and either sell him the #80 or buy back the #79....

It would be nice to have them both together in one home....

Regards,

Jerry

Jerry,

Very good ideas except for the fact I don't keep records of the transactions once the buyer has received the items and posted feedback.

My initial gut feeling was not to sell it and I should have stuck with it. I figured I had enough of them so what harm could it do to sell just one.

Almost wish I hadn't seen 80 except for the fact I now know there is a consecutive numbered set out there.

Buster,

Thanks, never thought of looking there for records that far back. I found the buyer and I tried sending him an email but the email server is down. I'll try again tomorrow.

Steve;

The one you sold looks much nicer than the one on ebay...speaking of which, do you mind adding the URL? I can't find it on there and was curious what it'll fetch.

On another note, I have one I'm going to sell, maybe it will match one of yours or someone else's?

This is a perverse turn of events Steve, but if we take a broader view, we'll realize virtually every watch in our collections at least at one time had consecutive serial number mates, one above and one below.

Ed,

Very true!!!!! This is why I keep a list of my 17, 19, and 21 jewel Bunn and Bunn Specials posted here next to my computer. I am always looking at serial numbers of watches listed on ebay. This was quite the surprise to see this other one come up and it fit right next to the one on my list which I hadn't scratched off yet.

I sent an email off to the buyer but I have not heard back from him yet. Still hoping he might consider selling.

This turn of events is still another good reason to sell on IHC auctions, not ebay Smile I'd like to think one party or the other would wind up with both watches.

Steve;

Mine's # 4838590 Mkd Sixty Hour only.

I have another 5-7 of them in my collection (at one time I had three complete sets of them...LOL)

I'll report those #'s too...I'm gonna sell all off except for one set of three. I just like Illinois Bunns of all types 18 and 16 Next to Sangamo Specials they're my favorite

Buster and all,

First of all the buyer never responded to either of my emails to him offering to buy back the watch at a profit for him. Then the ebay watch ended up selling($610) way more than my last second snipe($451) went out for so just as well I have neither.

Had I known for sure I was going to get the other one back I would have gone after the ebay watch a lot more aggressively.
