Did a Blind Man Montgomery dial ever come original in a #4 case? The 992 serial # is 2509033. The case # is 640278. I've never seen this combonation in an ad or picture. The 5 on the 50 minute marker is hidden by the bezel so I question if the dial is correct for the watch. RR ![]()

Richard, The mvmt & case are a logical combination as these case were debuted in 1927 and the mvmt was a 1928-29 mvmt. The dial is the correct style for that era also with the block Hamilton signature. Looks good to me and the case appears to be in good shape looking at the remaining detail on the bow. Hope that is some help.... ![]() Regards, bb

Gentlemen, Thank you for your knowledge and information. I've been going forward with trying to aquire all of the Hamilton railroad 992 and 992b cases and the different movement signatures as well as dials. I want the collection to be original watches rather than ones pieced together. I bought this watch described as having a broken balance. Some hack left behind a marked up balance cock, however I'm not going to change it or the movement because I want the watch to be original. It ends up the upper balance jewel was worn oval and the end cap was incorrect. It was easier to fix than I anticipated. This case and dial are in great shape so this watch is done. Thanks again for your response, RR
