I was thinking last night a good post would be to what everybody thinks is the Best Carry Watch . Ill get it started . For me a pendant set instead of a lever set is fine and a little easier to use day to day . I have a 16s Illinois that is fine for the job. What does everybody think ?

That's question I've wrestled with all my watch carrying 'career', Mike. Case is an easy choice...either silveroid, stainless, or a brassy gold filled case fills the bill.

As to watch, I'm still a fan of lever set movements, and 17j or higher.

Regards! Mark

Daily I carry a ball 17J. At the present time I am using one that has a worn gold filled case. If I didn't have that one, I would carry any of the others that were in silver or silveroid cases. I don't think it hurts any of them to be used.

I walk two miles a day and use the watch to pace myself. It makes a huge difference. If I walk to fast the legs really hurt. getting older isn't for sissy's.

On special occasions I wear the 18K hunter that my Great grandfather passed down.

happy hunting,

I carry 4 or 5 certain ones. If I want the "wow" factor I carry this big, bold Illinois, A. Lincoln.

Im getting a little more excited about keywinds . And When you interact with your watch I think it moves you to a simpler era. PLUS people see what are you doing , and then you show them ,offer an explanation , and now they are involved . Thanks

The "wow" factor of an antique watch never ceases to amaze me. Folks nowadays seem awe struck when I open the back case, and show them the running movement. Most have never seen a mechanical watch running.

I like nickle silver for daily use and I carry a 16 size 21j Hampden New Railway and for Sunday best an 18s 23j Hampden Special Railway with a montgomery dial. My backup is a 16s 21j Bunn special in a gold filled case.

Hi everyone, I am carrying a Hampden 21 jewel Wm. McKinley, lever set in a base metal case. Also I carry a Hampden 108, 17 jewel in a silveroid swingout-pendant set.

Most every work day, I carry a 16s 15jewel '08 model Waltham, cased in the finest of silveroid. It isn't a railroad watch, but it looks like one with its Montgomery dial.Oddly enough, for an unadjusted watch, it keeps just about perfect time! Also use my 18s 17J Bunn or 18s 17J New Railway and 18s 17J 2-tone Special Railway Hampdens.I work as a mechanic/welder, so I won't endanger any of my gold filled watches.Silveroid is the best carry case,IMHO.The more you use them, the shinier they get!On weekends, I usually use an 18s 23J Sp'l. Railway, or 16s 21J No. 105.It's a tough decision to make which one to carry, I love them all.
