Hello to All!

I am a new member and I have enjoyed searching the postings about pocket watches. I only have about a year of experience in pocket watch repair & I am self taught, there are no watch repair people that I know of in my area (Four Corners of New Mexico).

I was wondering if there are any collectors or interest in the E. Howard & Co. (not Keystone) in the club. I have decided to get rid of some of the movements I have & I was thinking of putting them on this site but from my searching it seems most of the postings are about the Keystone Howards.

I have 9 N size movements & 1 G that I have found so far in my stuff.

Well anyway, excuse my lack of skill in this entire field. As I said I enjoy looking at what others own & what they have to say.

Thanks, Tom

Hi Tom,
welcome to the IHC Club, it's great to have you with us. Smile

It's been many years since I've been to 4 Corners, we used to go there
from time to time when we lived in Phoenix. I have great memories
of the very first time my wife and our kids stood on the exact spot where four states
come together. What fun we had jumping from state to state. Big Grin

As an E.Howard collector myself, I'd be very interested in seeing
what you have in "N" size movements. If you could provide serial numbers, type of
movements (gilt/nickel)and overall condition this would be a big help.

HI Dave

Thanks for the welcome, I have lived in NM all my life other than Military service in the early 70's & 3 years in New Jersey.

I will decided what I want to do with these E. Howard watches. As I said I am new to this & I have found that I get the most enjoyment out of working on the watches than owning them, once I finish with one I don't really have any interest in it anymore. I had wanted to someday get some 14K cases for these movements & keep them but I retired from police work about a year ago & I have found that I won't ever be able to buy the cases on my retirement.

I do have a few complete pocket watches that I plan on keeping but I have always loved to take things apart, fix them & then get something else to take apart. I did have my father's BW Raymond that took me 30 years to track down after his death & it was not taken care of but I was able to get it back to life & have passed it down to my son.

Thanks again!

Hi Phil

Hope I didn't break a rule by putting my post here, I thought about putting it on the auction board but since I was just trying to see if there were any EH.&Co. collectors I thought I would post in this board to find out & then if I decided to sell list it in the auction board. If I was wrong, sorry.

Tom

Hi Ray

I got 34 years all together as a Cop but 26 from the department I retired from. I guess I am going to still stay at it, as most people who retire find they have to continue working to make ends meet. I would love to be able to start my own business doing pocket watch repair but I don't think that will happen.

Tom,
34 years huh, that's great. I see your in Farmington.
I was riding my Harley through Farmington New Mexico enroute to Sturgis about 12 years back and while riding out of town I was trying to find a place to eat breakfast.
While passing a small side street I obs'd a diner that had a few police cars in the street. I figured it either (A) was cheap priced (b) was good tasting or (c) both, I stopped in and had the biggest breakfast burrito I have evr seen, with a second plate loaded with biscuits and gravy. Wow, while it satisfied my hunger it sure was a hard ride to Kingman that day. Smile

Hi Tom,

I would also be interested in some of the Howard parts you have, why dont you try putting them in the auction as individual lots. dont need a big write up or anything just a photo or two. Smile
